Success Coach Election Process
Success Coach Selection Process Success Coaches are recruited through community organizations, local small and corporate businesses, universities, and other local and professional outlets. Recruitment of Success Coaches occurs on a rolling basis with major recruitment activities taking place during the same recruitment cycle as youth nominations.
All Success Coach candidates are required to complete an application and coaching profile which includes a series of questions related to the individual's background and interest in working with young people.
Upon completion of the application and coaching profile, all Success Coaches are required to participate in a group informational session conducted by SFLI staff. This session will provide additional information about Success for Life Initiative and the Success Coach mentoring model and process.
All interested candidates are required to participate in a panel interview. The panel consists of a select group made up of staff and SFLi board members. Once the interview is complete, selections are made and a background check is conducted. Selections are made based on: Gender (we need men match with young men and visa versa) & age life experiences, challenges, goals, and interests.
Candidates are notified, oriented, and trained within several weeks of the selection process.
