Success Coach Interaction Expectations

Throughout the 18-month process, success coaches are required to focus on four pillars that they will continually build upon throughout the year. These pillars include 1) Character Development, 2) Goal Setting, 3) Interpersonal Relationships and 4) Service Learning as detailed below.

The Success Coach 18-month cycle is structured to ensure that all youth participating in one-on-one mentoring are receiving the same foundational principles. All Success coaches are required to commit to a minimum of 4 hours a month and will be provided with a packet of information that includes a breakdown of the 4 pillars, a calendar listing each of the pillars to be focused on for the month, calendar of SFLI events, and a series of sample activities.

SFLI encourages success coaches to plan activities not included in the packet that may further serve the needs of the youth. The hope and the goal is that as success coaches further establish genuine relationships with their mentee, activities will be tailored to suite their needs and identified goals.
