Volunteer Philosophy
Every individual is unique: skill set, purpose, interest, and execution etc. The SFLI team is committed to assembling every unique person seriously interested in rescuing a generation of urban youth. Everyone is not attracted to direct service, yet they care. SFLI understands the unique gifting of individuals who want to contribute to the overall cause and yet serve out of their strengths knowing that they are making a difference. SFLI is devoted to supporting personal goals that will enhance YOU as a volunteer as YOU help SLFI mature as a movement to transform the life of youth.
Volunteer Teams
Volunteer Teams include:
Program Administration: Responsible for developing and maintaining organization guidelines, policies and procedures, etc and ensuring that all activities are in compliance with organizational goals and objectives. Also responsible for tracking community statistics and facts on Òat riskÓ youth in metro DC area.
Corporate Relations: Responsible for establishing contacts in the business community to provide funding support, working partnerships, grants and sponsorships through volunteer associations, schools, businesses, sporting organizations and the local community.
Media and Public Relations: Responsible for developing and utilizing various communication mediums to communicate the values and efforts of SFLIÐ this includes communication strategies through written communication (brochure and pamphlets), social media, public relations, social marketing, event planning and other integrated communication strategies.
Program and Training Development: Responsible for the planning and development of youth programs. Includes structure development, establishing training and personal development assessments for youth mentors and coaches.
Qualifications
Qualifications: The skill set varies contingent on the volunteer team or project. The desired skills include (but not limited to): compliance, research, data analysis, administrative tasks, partnership development, grant writing, fundraising, planning and development, public relations, training, and more!
Time Commitment
Time Commitment: SFLI request a commitment that is comparable to the responsibilities of the project you are considering. We value your time and appreciate hourly, weekly, monthly, or seasonal volunteer time commitments.
